ABOUT

Welcome to Products of the Static Age—the definitive home for Neo-trash, Hackore, and Swarm culture. This is more than a store; it’s a digital wasteland, a nerve center for the most unhinged, cybernetic, and aggressively chaotic sounds emerging from these subterranean dark web music scenes . Whether you’re hunting for exclusive merch from the pioneers of this genre-breaking movement or searching for music links that slice through the noise of the surface web, you’ve found your home.
Born from the anti-reaction movement against conventional hardcore, Products of the Static Age stands as a beacon of distortion. This isn’t just about music—it’s a culture, an infection, a counter-signal in a world of algorithmic predictability. We are here to document, distribute, and destroy the boundaries of extreme underground music.

The Birth of Products of the Static Age – A Virus in the Underground

In 2004, inside a small front room in Hamilton, Newcastle, a band was born—not just a band, but a concept, a reaction, a sonic prophecy. The idea was simple yet radical: what would punk and hardcore sound like in the dystopian, neon-drenched sprawl of Neo-Tokyo? Inspired by cybernetic chaos and the raw energy of films like Akira, they set out to create a sound that felt like a glitching transmission from the future.

After a chaotic experiment involving multiple translations of their original name—from English to Japanese and back again—they landed on The Ghost Computer!! A name that would soon become synonymous with the early waves of Neo-trash and Hackore.

Months later, their demos seeped into the underground, infecting the ears of key figures in Newcastle’s experimental music scene. Word spread fast. The demand was undeniable. Soon, they were recording an EP—one that would serve as a catalyst for something far bigger.

Then came Don’t Blame Me, I Voted for the Penguin—a wild force from Sydney, a band of sonic anarchists whose chaotic energy mirrored that of The Ghost Computer!! It was more than just a collaboration; it was the spark that set fire to a movement. Products of the Static Age began to take shape, not as a brand, but as a mutation—a shared identity for a scene that had no rules, no allegiance to genre, no regard for tradition.

From those early days, a virus spread—an Anti-Reaction to the stagnation of Australia’s hardcore scene. Neo-trash, Hackore, and Swarm became more than music. They became a statement, a rebellion against predictability, a movement built from distorted signals, fractured beats, and the relentless hunger for sonic destruction.

Today, Products of the Static Age stands as the central hub for this underground revolution—a tribute to the pioneers who first injected static into the system, and a platform for the next wave to push the limits even further.
